If there’s one thing that’s a certainty here on the Space Coast, it’s that launch schedules can and do change often. After last night’s delay of the planned launch of Falcon Heavy for the US Space Force, SpaceX stated that the next attempt would be no earlier than tonight, Tuesday December 12th. That has now been changed to NET Wednesday, according Space Launch Delta 45 of the US Space Force and SpaceX.
SpaceX launched 23 Starlink satellites for their orbital-based Internet service Thursday morning from Pad SLC-40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The successful launch was aboard a Falcon 9 performing its ninth mission.
The mission, designated as Starlink 5-31, added more Starlink satellites into the burgeoning constellation of over 5,500 small satellites providing Internet access from virtually anywhere on the globe.
SpaceX lofted another group of Starlink satellites between showers on a stormy Florida evening.
SpaceX launched Falcon9 carrying Starlink 604 mission from SLC-40 in Cape Canaveral on June 4, 2023. This spot on the Bennett Causeway just on Merritt Island would be utterly photogenic if the wires draping across the scene weren’t there. I could remove them in Photoshop but that’s not what was there, soooooo…..anyway.
This was a secondary objective photograph and was made actually as a test. It turned out okay. I may shoot this one again a few times in different light.
In the wee hours, SpaceX’s Falcon 9 carried Starlink 5-2 above the clouds behind a boat sitting anchored on the Banana River
Light showers were around the Cape this morning with a low cloud deck — this rocket more or less disappeared after about 15-20 seconds.

SpaceX launched 54 Starlink satellites this morning from Cape Canaveral, closing out the 2022 launch schedule for Florida. It was yet another picture-perfect launch.
Skies were clear enough this morning to where we could see the second stage for six-ish minutes. There’s a small gap between the end of the first stage’s powered ascent and the ignition of the second stage. My aim in this photo was to capture as much as possible of the second stage, and it succeeded from that perspective.
With Saharan Desert dust in the sky, SpaceX launched Falcon 9 to orbit shortly after dawn on May 18, 2022 from Pad LC-39A at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The launch was originally scheduled for 6:20AM local time, or shortly before dawn here, but it was delayed for nearly forty minutes for a 06:59AM ET liftoff.
On Saturday, May 14 at 4:40 p.m. ET, SpaceX launched Starlink satellites to orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
